Hello
While I was reading some old books I found some interesting illustrations, that i think you might like.

The Mig-29, as with other Soviet aircraft, started their “career” in the west as artist impressions.

Here are 3 of those, of the early 80’s a time when (obviously) not much was know about this aircraft.

Those are pretty interesting. I remember when I first saw a picture of a real MIG 29, I was instantly smitten. What a great looking airplane. It's still one of my favorites.

Great stuff JP. We did the same in the thread on the Mig19, another Soviet aircraft that had illutrators drawing it before it was seen.

I really enjoy these early artist impressions; nowdays they are more rare to see as allmost all airplanes are "instantly" presented to the public.
Here is one more: a MiG-31 that was not that far from the real thing
